Problem Note 44256: In SASĀ® 9.3, setting MEMSIZE system option to values of 0 or MAX results in a value of 2G
If you are running SAS® 9.3
in a UNIX environment and you set the value of the MEMSIZE
system option to 0 or MAX, the value will be set to 2G.
Insufficient memory errors could result.
To circumvent the problem, specify a reasonable value that is less than the
UNIX server's physical memory.
Note that Metadata Server processes are typically
started with a specification of -MEMSIZE 0.
If a value larger than 2G is required, modify the setting
in the MetadataServer.sh start-up script.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
In UNIX environments, if you set the MEMSIZE system option to values of 0 or MAX, the value will be 2G.
This impacts Metadata Server processes.
A hot fix is available for this problem.
